It's interesting, because as a teenager I was enthralled with the idea of "blogging"- somehow documenting my days seemed so exciting, although I'm not sure my "readers" felt the same way since I never had any (LOL!)
When it comes to being a business owner, it's challenging to ascertain what would be interesting to read from a customers perspective- but I'm not afraid to try new things- so bare with me! :) And if there is anything at all that you would like to "read about" as we move forward, please don't hesitate to let me know!! :)
This last market season was my first FULL market season- with multiple locations. And boy did I learn A LOT. After the holiday season, I struggled HARD on keeping up with any inventory for markets moving forward, let alone keeping the website up to date. Because of this, I went silent for the most part on socials. Being a one woman show, I knew I was already overwhelmed, and I didn't want to push myself to the breaking point. I was legitimately trying to stock back up on products in between market days, which is all fine and dandy, as most of my products are next day ready... except the soap. For those who don't know - cold process soap takes 4-6 weeks to cure. This gives the bars time to harden - providing a longer life in your shower. Technically- soap is safe to use after 48-72 hours, but it becomes a soft, gooey mess. So, understanding that I need to plan ahead better, I have spent the last few weeks building a hefty inventory- not just for market season, but also for the additional consignment locations I have coming through the end of the year... but that's a story for another time.
The bane of my existence as a body care company is LABELING. I absolutely DESPISE it. Why? I have no idea- I know there are many people who enjoy the tedious monotony of applying labels- but I am not one of those. BUT. I spent over 5 hours the other day, labeling over 400 bars of soap. The next day - I spent 6 hours wrapping and labeling all the fun new bath bombs I've created. Long story short? Inventory is full, and hopefully I don't have to touch another label for at least a week ...
I have had SO much fun designing and creating new looks on pretty much everything. Soaps have bright, fun summer colors and scents, and bathbombs have unique and fun themes as well. My whipped scrubs follow the soap scents/looks- so more bright and fun. I hope you enjoy seeing and using them, as much as I enjoy making them!
That's enough rambling for now. I hope you find this ... informative? entertaining? enlightening? ... but just not a complete waste of time :)
Have a great weekend!!!
